How do I respond to this?

I'm freshman in high school and I have found myself being asked this question a couple of times. A guy for instance woud walk up to me and he would say that his friend wants to talk to me. He would then ask if I have a bf. I thi about this sometimes, but I have no idea how to respond....the friend would usually come up after that. Any advice would help? Thanks :)
