How to make service website show up locally?

My company website for a hardwood flooring business shows up in Places for google because I have registered it there. However, it is not showing up when you just type in hardwood floors like other local companies sites do since google recognizes the location of the user searching for this. It is not from a lack of links or a lack of optimizing because it comes up #1 when you specifically type in "hardwood floors Minneapolis" and multiple other searches. I believe it is a matter of Google not recognizing that my site is in Minneapolis, even though that word is present in the site. I have tried searching this signed in under several different user names on Google, and tried different computers. Is there something I need to add into the site? Zip codes or? Or is it maybe something in my account info that needs changed, because I have lived in other states since having the web hosting I have.
