Memory card/Transferring?

So I just bought a Casio Exilim EX-Z80 digital camera and I'm buying a memory card. The one I want to get from Amazon says that it does not come with a reader, but I have a cord to hook my camera up to the computer, so if the card is in the camera, will I be able to just transfer pictures that way? Or do I need to buy a reader/
